The Curtain Rises

A New Idea

As the curtain rises on this lifestyle website, let’s reflect upon how and why we are here.

It all started with a kernel of insight from our founder’s teenage daughter.  She had the vision to express her creativity by starting a restaurant review and food blog.  As a good dad, he helped her to set it up and in doing so realized that he enjoyed it, both from technical and content standpoints.

How We Started This Website

So, the process began for us.  We enjoyed the technology, but what topic to choose?  Well, whatever comes of interest, typically involving critical examination of current trends, ranging from food science to health benefits and risks to travel to history – Many intended to answer the question, “Is it real?”. Or “true or false”.

Pros and Cons

Since a lot of our articles focus on pros and cons, here are some we thought about in deciding to start up this venture.  I’m not saying these apply to everyone considering starting their own web presence, but they worked for me:

Pros

  • Something families or friends might enjoy.
  • We would enjoy it too, both the technology and researching/writing articles.
  • Something to talk about, whether at parties, or even professionally besides intellectual property (although nothing wrong with that).

Cons

  • Could take a lot of time
  • Could be frustrating to get the technology to work as I wanted.
  • Expenses, such as for web hosting and a premium theme.
